Verbal Behavior Workshop

The verbal behavior (VB) methodology was created to address the language deficits of  learners while utilizing the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).  Verbal Behavior  programs utilize the principles of operant conditioning and Skinner's analysis of verbal behavior.  Skinner explains in his seminal work titled Verbal Behavior (1958), that language is itself a behavior which is therefore able to be shaped by the principles of operant conditioning.

Introduction to Verbal Behavior Workshop is an overview to Applied Behavior Analysis with a focus on  B.F.  Skinner’s analysis of verbal behavior.  The presentation includes: the history of verbal behavior, manding, learning across the verbal operants, motivative operation, natural environment teaching, and effective teaching procedures.
