Motivating children to realize their potential

same day payday loans The L2L Yucatan Experience

The L2L Director team traveled to the international ABAI conference in Merida, Mexico with the goal of staying current with cutting-edge research and making global connections. After having the privilege to visit a Mayan archeological site and ruins in Dzibilchaltún, the team began their conference journey. The journey began with the opening ceremony where the conference… committee made up of academicians and professionals from surrounding universities from Guadalajara, Veracruz, and Mexico City greeted the attendees. The conference was officially opened with a big “bienvenida” (welcome) from a representative from the city of Merida who welcomed the attendees to their great city. This “bienvenida” was then followed by the whimsical music of a traditional Mayan band dressed in their native garments. The following two days, the L2L team listened to international leaders in our field discuss topics of international interest such as leadership, best practices in running an ABA business, International service delivery, meta-analysis of the great mural painters of Mexico, and much much more. This conference raised awareness of the intense need there is in other areas of the world such as in Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Asia and awakened a passion to extend our love for the work we do to other countries. That awakened spirit led us to make connections with an esteemed professional who is already providing ABA services internationally as well as a practitioner from the country of Guatemala. Both were excited to hear we were interested in joining forces with them to help the many international families and children with autism who could benefit from our help. Based on this experience, L2L is excited to begin planning a new journey to offer support to families and spreading our “best of the best” mission to other countries. We will excitingly keep our L2L family updated as this new project unfolds as we believe the spirit and drive of our Love 2 Learn team has no borders.

Muchos saludos from Merida, Mexico.
