Love 2 Learn understands that parenting is hard! Research shows that parents of children with a developmental disability experience A LOT MORE stress! Our April Parent Workshop will focus on teaching parents 6 Evidence Based Strategies for managing stress and increasing “psychological flexibility” as parents. We are pleased to present Acceptance and Commitment
Therapy, which has growing evidence as a useful intervention for improving a parent’s ability to cope and to create a richer, happier, and more meaningful experience while parenting their children.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Ana Salgado, M.A., BCBA
Ana received her BA in Women’s Studies and Public Policy with a concentration in Health and Population from the University of California, Riverside in 2012. She attended Florida Institute of Technology where she completed her BCaBA requirements. She went on to receive her MA in Applied Behavior Analysis with a concentration in Autism in 2016 from Ball State University. Since beginning her ABA career, Ana has served as a special education classroom aide, behavior technician, behavior interventionist, parent consultant, and clinical supervisor to individuals of various ages.
Obed Leija, M.S, BCBA
Obed received his Bachelor of Art in Psychology at California State University, Fullerton in 2005. Next, he received
his Masters of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis at California State University, Los Angeles. Obed worked with both children and adults in the school setting, in-home services and community for over 10 years within varying capacities. Since beginning his ABA career Obed has served as a behavior interventionist, parent consultant and clinical supervisor to individuals of various ages.
