IEP Meetings can be stressful times for parents. Our Parents as Partners workshop is designed to empower parents to be more of an equal member of their child's educational team. We will review the special education system with a focus on how to navigate the IEP process successfully to ensure your child receives an appropriate education. From preparation to trouble shooting, Sandi Ames will offer attendees tips for success.
Sandi Ames has been advocating for and working with individuals with disabilities of all ages for over 30 years. She is a graduate of the Special Education Advocacy Training (SEAT) program and has participated on numerous local, county, and state collaborative educational teams. As a parent of an adult child with Down syndrome, Sandi Ames has a unique insight as a special education advocate/parent mentor.
