Speaker Series | The Service Provider's Role in an IEP Meeting
Time & Location
About The Event
Please save the date & join us where we will be exploring the Dos & Don'ts for service providers in an IEP meeting! This speaker series allows you to earn 2 CEUs.
Sandi Ames will be addressing the role of the service provider at student IEP meetings. What should the provider share? What should the provider not share? What are the most important things a service provider can bring to the table to ensure that the IEP team sees the whole child, not just the one they see during the school day. What is the most beneficial way for a service provider to collaborate ongoing with the public school IEP team members? There will be an opportunity to answer individual questions as well – please provide ahead of time to Ana@love2learnconsulting.com
3 OBJECTIVES FOR EVENT:

2.) Participants will walk away & be able to identify information that service providers should NOT share during IEP meetings.

Sandi Ames has been advocating for and working with individuals with disabilities of all ages and their families for over 30 years. Her collaborative, resolution style of advocacy led her to create a program, We CAN, to support and educate teachers and those who serve students with an IEP. We CAN workshops provide individuals with additional insight into their role on a student’s IEP team, as well as provide supports and strategies that can increase student success in accessing core curriculum. All CAN programs have a focus on relationship building and problem solving so that the needs of the student remain at the focus of all meetings and decision making.
This workshop is sponsored by CAN (Collaborate/Advocate/Navigate) in collaboration with Integrated Resources Institute through a grant from the State Council on Developmental Disabilities.
